I spent significant time today shifting my email process again. I spend a lot of time in meetings, and have struggled with responding to emails within a reasonable time frame. A few months ago, I switched over to Superhuman which has been helpful by providing a convention on multiple inboxes and keyboard shortcuts. However, our team uses streak and it doesn’t integrate with Streak. As a workaround, I would use Superhuman and tag emails with a Streak label. Then at a later date, I would go into gmail and add the tagged emails into streak. However, I often forget or de-prioritized going back in gmail and adding to Streak.
Today, I’ve decided to stick with gmail. I made changes to the gmail settings to enforce some of the learnings from Superhuman — turn on keyboard shortcuts, and using gmail’s default tabs (Primary, Social, Updates, etc). I now have to do the work to train the tabs.
