Sitting In the In-Between

From a work perspective, 2020 is a wrap. The new COVID vaccine began its rollout this week, signaling a possible near-end to the COVID era. And the new year starts in 2 weeks.

Six years ago, Morten (my husband) and I went on a road trip with our camper van. On our way back home, he kept referencing John Steinbeck’s book, Travels with Charley. He mentioned that the end of the road trips are not as enjoyable, as you have mentally transitioned to what will come next — so you’re not present and miss out on the tail end of the trip.

It’s not accurate to compare 2020 to a road trip. But we are in the tail end, and I want to challenge myself not to miss current opportunities because I’m anxious about what’s to come.

I think I found a book to read during the break — Travels with Charley.
